What to Pack for a Surf Camp in Morocco: The Complete Checklist

From wetsuits to power adapters, here is everything worth packing (and what you can leave at home) for a surf trip to Morocco.

What to Pack for a Surf Camp in Morocco: The Complete Checklist

Packing for a surf camp is different from packing for a normal beach holiday. You will spend most days in and out of the water, walking on sand, dust and occasionally uneven paths, and the temperature can swing from warm afternoons to cool evenings. Here is a practical checklist based on what our guests actually use each week.

Surf Gear

Most equipment is provided at the camp, but a few personal items are worth bringing:

  • Swimwear / boardshorts (bring two so one can always be drying)
  • A rash vest for sun and rash protection
  • Reef-safe sunscreen — high SPF, water resistant
  • Your own wetsuit if you have one and prefer your own fit (boards and wetsuits are included in our packages, but personal gear is always welcome)

Clothing

Mornings and evenings can be cool, especially outside of summer, while afternoons are warm and sunny.

  • Light, breathable layers for daytime
  • A warmer layer (hoodie or light jacket) for evenings
  • Comfortable sandals or flip-flops, plus one pair of trainers for excursions
  • A scarf or light cover-up if you plan to visit local markets or towns

Everything Else

A few small extras that guests are always glad they packed:

  • A dry bag for wet clothes and electronics on excursion days
  • A reusable water bottle
  • A universal or EU-to-Morocco power adapter
  • A basic first-aid kit with plasters and rehydration salts
  • A GoPro or waterproof phone case if you want to capture your sessions
  • Cash in Moroccan dirhams (MAD) for markets, tips and small purchases — cards are not accepted everywhere)

What You Do Not Need to Bring

You do not need to bring your own surfboard, wetsuit, yoga mat or bike — these are all included as part of our packages. Traveling light leaves more space in your bag for the trip home (and any souvenirs from the local souks).
