Your First Surf Lesson in Morocco: What the Day Really Feels Like
From the first warm-up to your first white-water ride, here is what beginners can expect.

A calm start on the sand
Your first lesson usually begins with a chat about the conditions, a warm-up, and a simple explanation of the board. You will practise the pop-up on the sand before going anywhere near a wave. It may feel basic, but those few minutes make the water session much easier.
Small waves are the right waves
Beginners do not need dramatic surf. Gentle white-water waves give you time to find your balance, feel the board move, and repeat the same skill without pressure. The aim of a first session is comfort and control, not chasing the biggest wave.
Expect lots of attempts
Most people need several tries before standing up. That is completely normal. Every paddle, wipeout, and laugh is part of the learning process. Your coach will give one or two clear points to focus on, rather than overwhelming you with too much information.
You leave with a new kind of energy
A first surf lesson is physical, but it is also wonderfully freeing. After a shower and a good meal, many guests feel tired in the best way. The next day usually feels more familiar, and that is when the real progress starts.

A room. A board. A little adventure.
